PG's Brett Petrusek is On Location at the 2008 Arlington Guitar Show. In this clip, Peavey's Tony Pasko?walks Brett through the Vypyr, Peavey's new modeling amp. The Vypyr models some heavy-hitting amps, including amps made by Diezel and Krank.

i played one next to a xxx and liked it better.granted i could not turn the xxx up for powertube distortion.im getting one to record with.only analog modeling for me.speaker change and this thing will rule

I own a Diezel. I'm quite taken with how close that thing's Diezel sounds. Kinda pissed, actually!!!

I'll wait and hear it for myself, without being properly miked..........AHH!???? $199 is the price for stomp boxes today SO if sounds even close your may have a winner

For a budget minded person this is perfect. Will it hold up to the raw tube tone of a Valveking? I would say no but that's for you ears to decide.

I wonder, does it sound better than a new Bandit? Because the preamp/power amp of the Vypyr is supposed to be Transtube, the same technology that is in the Bandit. The digital stuff is for the effects. Doesn't matter if it sounds great. The prices are pretty reasonable too.
