Video tour of the Taylor Guitar factory, led by Bob Taylor

Premier Guitar was On Location in El Cajon, California, where we toured the Taylor Guitar factory, led by Bob Taylor. In addition to the video tour highlights below, you can read our inside account and see our photo tour here.

Taylor Factory Tour, part one
In the first half of the tour, we begin where every guitar begins -- wood selection. Tops are cut with lasers and necks are readied for attachment.

Taylor Factory Tour, part two
The tour continues with the installation of braces, the sides are molded, binding is painstakingly applied, rough edges are sanded, finish is applied in a unique, efficient way, and Bob Taylor explains the guitars' electronics and neck connection.

Bob has the math down. THat 14th fret fulcrum thing is spot on. THAT is the way to adjust a neck, my friends. No wonder Taylors are so solid.

I had never heard about the neck movement versus rotation (as on the NT necks) before. That is amazing! It's at the end of the second video.
