The minds behind Amp Gremlin must have had more than a few trashed treasures, because they set out to create a solution that would turn an eyesore into an eyecatcher. In the process, they created the perfect way to dress up the stage without permanently painting that flaming skull on your high-priced gear.
Made with a stretchy mesh material that doesn’t alter your gear’s sound or usability, Amp Gremlin can be used on amps, cabinets or PA speakers, and are custom made for each customer. So if you change bands more than you change underwear, you can keep the same gear while still showing off the band’s logo. The covers can also be used for advertisements or sponsorships, proving that selling out can also be stylish. Ordering some art for your amp is easy through the company’s website, where you fill out a form with your contact information, size and type of audio equipment and your choice of 65 fabric patterns – ranging from “Colored Sequins” for the glam rockers to classic black for the no-frills crowd. Finally, you upload your artwork and place the order. When the cover arrives, dressing the amp takes mere seconds and your look is complete.
One standard size Amp Gremlin will set you back $130, or $190 for a full stack. Amp Gremlin’s pricing is based on a Marshall 4x12 cabinet and is standard for most amplifier applications. Odd sized cabinets and speakers are priced at $18/square foot.
